Workshop on capacity building for health promotion

On 5-8 November 2002, WHO convened a workshop on capacity building for health promotion in Manila, Philippines. National programme managers from eleven Member States attended this meeting. The product of the meeting was a "regional agenda for capacity building" to support the Regional Framework for Health Promotion 2002-2005 that included:

• Strategic partnerships for health and education
• Strategic partnerships for health promotion and good governance
• Leadership mentoring in health promotion
• Health promotion infrastructure and financing
• Communication campaigns for the general public and internal marketing of health promotion to the health sector
• Evaluating the effectiveness of health promotion
